Emerging Photographer Series

As I am sure you are all aware we have begun a series of videos focusing on second year students and their personal projects called The Emerging Photographer Series. Our first video focused on Thomas Dagg who was gracious enough to let us film him photographing us for his Multitude series.

As the school year approaches and the faculty start back to work we are beginning to look for more subjects for this series, we do have some stipulations though:
  1. We are looking for students who are actively producing personal work.
  2. We are also looking to film you on location during a shoot, so both you and your subject(s) must be willing to be recorded and published online, so model or location releases are needed.
Submissions will be reviewed by faculty and because this is an extra curricular activity for both the student and faculty it will be subject to the availability of the faculty.

Please submit, via email, a sample of your personal work and a brief overview of the nature of the work.

Please Submit To: machinj@algonquincollege.com
Deadline: None

Front Row At The Olympics

One of our recent graduates Dani Kerr will be going to the Olympics!

Dani applied to volunteer at the 2010 games and got a position as a photographer's assistant, an amazing opportunity both professionally and personally. Good luck Dani and don't forget to send us some photographs.

Laminator Training - Tom White

It was training day at the Photography Program, we learned how to operate our new laminator. Tom White formerly of About Face came in for a full morning run down on the safe and proper way to laminate and dry mount.

Thanks Tom your knowledge and years of practical experience with mounting and framing were an invaluable asset.
