Visual Acoustics - Julius Shulman



Next week we will be having a private screening of Visual Acoustics, a film about photographer Julius Shulman.

Shulman defined modern Architectural Photography by beautifully recording on film buildings by Architects like Frank Lloyd Wright, Pierre Koenig and Frank Gehry to name just a few.

Our First Year Student are getting closer to shooting their final assignment before Christmas Break, Portraiture.

Back Burner Show

The Back Burner Show, in support of Yann Martel's book launch for "What is Stephen Harper Reading", will run on November 14, from 6-10PM at Patrick Gordon Framing 160 Elm St..

Local artists, some Algonquin Photography Grads and former Instructors, will be participating in this show this is a good chance to get out and meet some local artists and have some fun.

Stryker's America Photographing the Great Depression



A new movie at the LRC, Stryker's America Photographing the Great Depression, this DVD covers the Farm Security Administration's Historical Division during the Great Depression.

This is a must see for anyone interested in Social Documentary Photography, and as discussed in our History class all the FSA images are free to download from the Library of Congress.
