It was training day at the Photography Program, we learned how to operate our new laminator. Tom White formerly of About Face came in for a full morning run down on the safe and proper way to laminate and dry mount.
There are some new studio owners in town and they are giving away free drinks.
We have just found out that Lesley Dornan is going to be included in Photo Life magazine's Emerging Photographers 2009 issue due out in September, congratulations to Lesley!! We here at the College eagerly await this issue every year.
For those of you who have not seen Andrew Balfour's show at Arts & Architecture this is the last week. So get out and take a look, his Chocolate Polaroids are a must see.
Let's just say that Bowie is very happy, the new printers have arrived, C124 has four new Epson 7900s and C125 and C131 have one each. These brand new 24" inch printers have HDR inks for better dynamic range and archival properties.
Over the past two days we have all been working hard to re-locate and organize all the gear from C122 into the new Studio Storage Room (C112), right across the hall.
The Production Room paint is dry, one of the drop box cabinets has been ripped out and a new floor installed.
The upstairs studio (C122) has been emptied the grid walls, cabinets, apple boxes and roll paper are now in C112, the new Studio Storage Room. All softboxes are being bagged and tagged and will now be stored in the ER and signed out as needed.
Things are getting primed and painted around here, C124 and C126 are going completely grey and C125 is getting a fresh new white coat of paint. The printer racks and Epson 4800s are gone and new printers, cameras and other photographic gear are arriving soon, stay in touch to keep up to date.
